Poor Random Number Generation Makes 1 in Every 172 RSA Certificates Vulnerable
Research report by firm KeyFactor shows many IoT and network devices are using weak digital certificates that make them vulnerable to attack. Researchers Jonathan Kilgallin and Ross Vasko analyzed 75 million RSA certificates and found 1 in 172 keys share a factor with another, which means they can be easily cracked.

Microsoft Presents Static TypeScript, a Fast Subset of TypeScript Targeting Embedded Devices
Microsoft recently submitted a research paper introducing Static TypeScript (STS), a subset of TypeScript targeting low-resource embedded devices, to the Managed Programming Languages and Runtimes 2019 (MPLR 2019) international conference. STS programs may run on devices with only 16 kB of RAM faster than embedded interpreters would, which would extend battery life of these devices.

Simplifying Device Connectivity, Microsoft Releases IoT Plug and Play in Preview
In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced the preview of IoT Plug and Play to simplify device integrations through a published capability model, which is based on the Digital Twin definition language.
