Marina Moore recently graduated with a PhD from NYU, where she performed research into software supply chain security. Throughout this research, she has focused on the interaction between research and real-world application through open source contribution and discussion. She is an open source maintainer and active in open source communities through the CNCF and OpenSSF. As a maintainer of The Update Framework (TUF), in-toto, Uptane, SBOMit, and Sigstore, she contributes directly to open source software through programming, specification authorship, PR reviews, and community management. Beyond individual contributions, she is a co-chair for the CNCF’s Technical Advisory Group for Security (TAG Security), where she helps organize security-focused conference events, write white papers, and create resources for CNCF projects looking to improve their security.
