OmniFish

OmniFish has announced their OmniFish Build of Payara for organizations still running on the versions 5.0 and 6.0 of the Payara Platform that are no longer supported by Payara. This will allow a smooth migration and will include regular security fixes and 24x7 enterprise support. As stated in the announcement:

While OmniFish stands strongly behind the Eclipse GlassFish project and provides top-quality support for GlassFish, we understand that it’s not straightforward to upgrade from older Payara versions to GlassFish. We decided to bridge this gap and start offering our supported builds of Payara to allow a smooth transition to a Payara Server build supported by OmniFish, without having to migrate to GlassFish to be able to benefit from our support services.

OmniFish will provide long-term support for Payara Platform 5.0 and 6.0 until 2029 and 2032, respectively.

Vidocq

Vidocq, an implementation of the Jakarta EE 11 Core Profile and MicroProfile 7.1 specifications, was introduced by Antoine Sabot-Durand, IT Director at SCIAM, and Yann Blazart, Senior Tech Lead at SCIAM. Written in pure Java with zero external dependencies and support for JDK 25, Vidocq has been validated by 5,650 official TCK tests. More details on the implemented specifications may be found in the documentation. InfoQ will follow up with a more detailed news story.
